The Headteacher of Dudley House School, Jenny Johnson and the church's Personal Ministries Leader, Elisabeth Carnell were invited to the inauguration of Councillor Charmaine Morgan as the first Ambassador of Grantham, replacing the former office of Mayor. Ambassador Morgan stated she wanted to invite people to her inauguration with whom she had been involved in the community.
The Ambassador is not a stranger to our church and school, having taken part in our World Refugee Service two years running - the first time in person and the second time by sending a message to be read on her behalf as she was unwell. In the past, has visited our school and was genuinely concerned to hear of the threats to the future of small, independent and faith schools, such as Dudley House School, because of the new tax and business rate policy, discussing the issue at length with our Pastor and the Headteacher.
As a church we have worked with Charmaine Morgan in her role as Deputy Mayor, Mayor, and now the first Ambassador, on the Nottingham Triumph Owners MCC toy runs and Easter egg runs to Grantham at the Meres and then back at our church.
We look forward to continuing to support the Ambassador as she seeks to serve our community.
