Belton House 2024

Community Festival at Belton Estate

Strong gusts of wind and torrential rain on the Sunday didn't stop us from having a great weekend of witness and service at the Community Festival held on the Belton Estate, around the cricket pitch, in front of Belton House.

The Personal Ministries and Health Ministries teams of our church worked together at this event.  Apart from the wind, Sabbath was a dry and mostly sunny day.  Many people attended the event, giving us the opportunity to share our church's community involvement and give everyone a gift bag to take away.  Approximately 100 people took part in the health check over the two day event, carried out by qualified health professionals with other church members assisting.  Everyone taking part was given a bottle of water and some health literature.  On the Personal Ministry side of the stand, there were a range of Christian books for people to choose but everyone visiting the stand received a gift bag, as did the children.  As at previous events we found the colouring books were very popular.

On Sunday the rains came and didn't leave.  This didn't dampen spirits, with a number of families continuing to work their way around all the stands.  The lighter foot traffic gave us the opportunity to visit the other stands with a gift of a bottle of water, which was well received despite the water coming from the skies above!  The compere for the event was impressed by the' Because you're loved theme', and announced from the stage that we were giving away water and doing health checks 'because you're loved'!

At this event we made new friends but also met existing friends, neighbours, clients, past students, work colleagues and people whose children attended our Dudley House School in the past and present, giving us the opportunity to share the Gospel, information about our church and our purpose to pass on God's love.
