Dysart Park Fun Day
On the first Sunday of July, the Children's Ministries Team supported by the Personal Ministries Team, set up games, crafts and gift packs, an information display showing our church's community involvement, weekly church services and children's church activities ready for the families attending the Dysart Park Family Fun Day.
In past years, this has always been a dry and even sunny day. Not this year - the rain came down and kept on coming! However, a number of hardy townspeople brought their families to the Park to enjoy the entertainment laid on by the organisers. Situated near the wrestling ring, the crowds gravitated to our end of the park! A number of children visited our stand and had a great time. We also gave out water, books and gift packs to the accompanying adults. Dogs weren't forgotten either, with a drinking water bowl for them too.
Our tents were close to a wrestling ring (with various experts throwing each other around) and a local children's football stall, so there was a lot of excitement and energy around us despite the weather!
At the end of the day, volunteers were cold, damp and weary but this hasn't put them off and we plan to be there again in 2025!
